WKU volleyball head coach Travis Hudson gives injury update prior to Sam Houston
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Hilltopper volleyball team is back on the road this weekend for its final away series of the regular season, taking on Sam Houston in Texas.
The team has still not lost in conference play this year, holding a 14-0 record with just four CUSA games left on the calendar.
The two previous doubleheaders have seen assistant coach Jena Otec step up to fill the lead role after both head coach Travis Hudson and assistant coach Craig Berre underwent lower leg surgery last week, but Hudson remains hopeful they can make it back to the court when the regular season concludes next weekend.
“Our goal is by the Liberty home weekend that, in some fashion, we can be back on the sideline,” Hudson said, “But that probably has something to do with how we heal and something to do with how good of patients we are in terms of doing the things that we’re supposed to do. But that’s our goal is to hopefully be back on the sideline for the Liberty weekend in some fashion, and then be in a position to be able to make the trip to the conference tournament as well.”
