WKU student stepping in to make a difference during pandemic

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-With the impact this pandemic has had on the world of education, one local Hilltopper is stepping in.

Western Kentucky University junior Shikira Tunstill is starting an initiative called College Covid Recovery Questions on the Hill.

From Jan. 22 through Jan. 29, Tunstill will be seeking out random students willing to speak on how COVID-19 affected them, and what they have learned during that time to make this semester even better.

Tunstill said the goal is to help people see what students endured and learned during a COVID-19 semester, and to show that there is hope when it comes to making it through this tough time.

“This will give me a chance to engage with the students and also show other students that we’re all in this together. It’ll also give others the chance to see the trials and tribulations of being in college during a pandemic, which is quite a tough challenge,” Tunstill said.

Tunstill says she’s looking to make a shareable video of this initiative after Jan. 29.
