WKU Student Healthcare Association “Shaping the Future” of healthcare with panel discussion

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Western Kentucky University Student Healthcare Association hosted a panel discussion featuring high-ranking officials from around the Commonwealth as they look to shape the future of healthcare.

The panel included TriStar Greenview COO Sam Younger, Ascension St. Thomas West President/COO Harrison Kiser, Med Center Health Executive Vice President Wade Stone, Graves-Gilbert Clinic CEO Michael D’Eramo & Norton Healthcare Senior Vice President of Operations Scott Watkins.

These five men discussed what healthcare has looked like in the region, and what the future may look like with new technology.

Watkins says Norton is open to collaborating with other organizations to better the field in Kentucky.

“We are committed to doing what’s right for our patients… and if that means we need to set aside some of our growth goals of what we have to do to be just a little bit more successful, and we look for opportunities to partner. We’re open to those conversations, and I hope that’s what this community truly understands about health care. We’re trying to do what’s best for the Commonwealth going forward,” he says.

The WKU SHA is grateful for the five panelists for taking time to discuss the importance of the future of the industry, and felt that a very thorough discussion was had.
