WKU Softball’s Kelsey Aikey Ranks 23rd Among Division I Pitchers

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The highly-regarded college softball outlet D1Softball has ranked Western Kentucky Hilltoppers’ star Kelsey Aikey at #23 on their Top-100 Pitchers list, which has been incrementally released on a weekly basis since mid-April.

The list is heavily based on pitching analytics, which include the zone control, pitch ability and durability of Division I pitchers.

Across 79 innings of work this past season, Aikey owned a 1.86 ERA to go along with her 10-3 record, seven complete games and three saves. In addition, the Cedar Falls, Iowa, native racked up a total of 116 strikeouts against only 33 walks.

The rising redshirt senior will take advantage of the NCAA’s decision to grant an extra year of eligibility to all spring sport athletes and return for her fifth season on The Hill this fall.
