WKU Soccer prepped for program’s 25th season
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Tuesday, WKU Soccer head coach Jason Neidell, senior Maddie Davis and junior Rebecca Roth spoke ahead of the program’s 25th season.
2024 saw the smallest number of wins for the Tops in the team’s history, as they finished with a 3-8-5 record, but with half the team being made up of newcomers and the returners bringing back confidence, the squad as a whole is looking to rise back up within Conference USA.
Just a week out from the season opener at Ohio University, Coach Neidell explained how they are using last season as fuel to improve and compete at a high level.
“ This year’s team is exciting. I think that we’re coming off the heels of a season with regrets and I think that when I look to the left and I look to the right, these are two players that have a little bit of a chip on their shoulder,” Neidell said. “[They] really see the future of the program and see what this team’s capable of, and the players we’ve added, and I think there’s just a lot of excitement about what this season holds.”
