WKU Soccer Announces 2024 Fall Schedule

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — WKU Soccer has announced its 2024 fall schedule that features eight home matches, eight away matches, four matches against first-time opponents and two preseason exhibition games. All matches at the WKU Soccer Complex are free to the public.

The season unofficially begins Aug. 5 with Chattanooga at home in the team’s first exhibition match. The Hilltoppers will finish preseason play at Belmont on Aug. 11.

The 24th season of WKU Soccer officially opens at Austin Peay on Aug. 16. That match kicks off a road slate that includes 2023 NCAA Tournament team Arkansas on Sept. 1 and Dayton on Sept.5. Both Arkansas and Dayton are first-time opponents for the Hilltoppers. WKU starts Conference USA play at Louisiana Tech on Sept. 20. League road play continues with New Mexico State (Sept. 26), UTEP (Sept. 29), Middle Tennessee (Oct. 13) and FIU (Oct. 27).

WKU’s home opener is Thursday, Aug. 22 against Union at 7 p.m.. The Hilltoppers will host Evansville that same weekend, playing the Aces on Sunday, Aug. 25 at 6 p.m. WKU will return home in September with Arkansas State (Sept. 8 – 1 p.m.) and 2023 NCAA Tournament team and first-time opponent, Ohio (Sept. 12 – 7 p.m.).

Home CUSA action starts in October with new member Kennesaw State coming to Bowling Green on Thursday, Oct. 3 for a 7 p.m. match at the WKU Soccer Complex. The Hilltoppers host Jacksonville State later that week, taking on the Gamecocks on Sunday, Oct. 6 at 1 p.m. WKU will face Liberty, 2023 CUSA champion, at home on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. and will close out the regular season with Sam Houston on Friday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m.

The CUSA tournament will be Nov. 6-10 in Miami.

WKU finished the 2023 season in third place in CUSA. The Hilltoppers bring back 17 returners and welcome nine newcomers.
