WKU recognized as Tree Campus USA
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- For the 10th consecutive year, Western Kentucky University is being recognized for its trees on campus.
Western has been honored with the 2019 Tree Campus USA recognition by the Arbor Day Foundation for its commitment to effective urban forest management.
To obtain the distinction, WKU met multiple core standards, including the establishment of a tree advisory committee, evidence of a tree-care plan and dedicated annual expenditures for its campus tree program.
Currently, there are 385 college campuses around the country with the recognition.
WKU has been honored since 2010.
