WKU QB Steven Duncan Enters NCAA Transfer Portal

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers will head into the 2020 campaign without the most experienced quarterback on the roster.

On Monday afternoon, redshirt junior Steven Duncan announced via his Twitter account that he has entered the NCAA’s transfer portal with plans to graduate in May and use his final two years of eligibility elsewhere.

Duncan was the starting quarterback for the first three games of the Tops’ 2019 season before suffering a season-ending foot injury against Louisville on September 14th.

The Charleston, S.C. native completed 59% of his passes for 790 yards with 5 touchdowns and 4 interceptions in 2019.

Duncan was presumed as the favorite to start under center heading into the 2020 season, but now head coach Tyson Helton will have to lean on someone else as the Hilltoppers look to build off last season’s surprisingly strong 9-4 campaign.
