WKU professor discusses V.P. pick
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The match up is now set for the Presidential Election after Democrat candidate Kamala Harris has chosen Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her choice for her Vice President.
Walz, who was a congressman for Minnesota’s 1st district before becoming governor, now hits the campaign trail with current Vice President Kamala Harris, stopping in important battle ground states such as Pennsylvania, Nevada and Georgia.
News 40 spoke to WKU professor Jeff Budziak to discuss who Walz is and what he brings to the Harris campaign.
Budziak tells News 40 that he offers a link between the Democrat party and small town America. Walz, being from a small town himself, could connect with those voters across important states. The decision has intrigued some professionals, as Walz is not from a battle ground state.
However, Budziak tells us that vice presidential picks are more about sending a message to the American people than the state a person represents.
