WKU President Caboni gives annual convocation address
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- This morning, Western Kentucky University President Timothy Caboni delivered his annual faculty and staff convocation address.
Caboni recapped the previous school year and what to look forward to this year, which is WKU’s 116th year of operation.
Caboni announced that since 2017, the university has raised $171 million dollars in fundraising, the most gifts in any five-year period.
He also noted that the retention rate of first-time, first-year students who returned in the spring was 90.9%, an increase of nearly 5% over four years.
M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan for freshman students begin tomorrow and the first day of the semester is next week.
Dr. Martha Sales was recognized as the Spirit of WKU Award recipient. She is the Dean of Students and Assistant Vice President for Student Life as well as the Executive Director of TRIO Programs and the Intercultural Student Engagement Center.
