WKU student charged with unlawful imprisonment, police say
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Western Kentucky University police are investigating an incident that happened on campus Friday night.
Police tell us they are investigating an unlawful imprisonment. The incident happened around 7 p.m. Friday at a greenhouse on campus near Snell Hall. Police say they learned that at this location, a man allegedly approached the victim and began speaking to her before she tried to leave and he grabbed her, preventing her from leaving.
Police say the victim has minor injuries and refused treatment. The victim is reported to have ran to the Midtown at WKU apartments, where she called police.
According to WKU police, WKU student Davaughn Johnson was arrested near Cherry Hall on campus.
Johnson is charged with first-degree sexual abuse, unlawful imprisonment and fourth-degree assault.
Police say the victim just graduated.
