WKU police headquarters approved for major renovations
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Western Kentucky University Police Department has been approved for major renovations to its headquarters.
Over $400,000 will be spent to update and remodel the department over a two-phase process.
The WKU Board of Regents recently approved the funding.
The first phase will consist of the administrator’s and communication center, followed by renovations to Buildings Annex 1 and Annex 2.
New lighting and flooring will be installed and the overall layout will be getting a contemporary look.
Police officials said they are determined to make the department more customer friendly.
The renovations will also include a media space for interviews and conferences with a media backdrop, as well as an officer lounge.
The renovation process will begin in January.
