WKU holds Topper Fest to celebrate the upcoming year

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Classes are starting back up on the Hill and to celebrate, the annual Topper Fest took place Friday night.
Students and fans gathered on the South Lawn to enjoy live music, food, fireworks, games and even meet with some student athletes.
Big Red was on hand to welcome new students to the Hill and many local businesses were set up to connect with the community ahead of the upcoming school year.
The executive director of the Red Towel Trust (the NIL partner of WKU Athletics) spoke on what the event brings for both the fans and the athletes.
“Hilltopper fans here love their athletes, and they want to meet them,” Nick Uhlenhopp said. “They are their role models, and we probably did close to 500 hours out in the community, so our players are getting to know these kids. These kids want to come support, their role models and so, it’s awesome. This place is packed, it’s probably the busiest I’ve seen it. It’s been awesome.”
