WKU Greek Life wraps gifts for Angel Tree students at Parker Bennett Curry

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Members of Greek Life organizations at Western Kentucky University came together for an Angel Tree gift-wrapping session, benefiting children at Parker Bennett Curry Elementary School.

23 fraternities and sororities were represented, wrapping presents for 27 students.

Each organization was assigned a child, and got the gifts on that child’s list, from clothes they need to the toys they want.

The students were recommended by the school’s Family Resource Center, giving Greek Life members a chance to give back to their community.

“I am an education major, so working with children and the lives of children are very important to me… so making sure that each child in the area has a good Christmas and has a good time during the holidays is just really important to me because it’s something that I care about a lot,” junior Carly Wright of Alpha Gamma Delta says.

“I just love to be able to give back, whether it be face-to-face, anonymously, just being able to help another person,” junior Lainey Lindsey with Alpha Xi Delta says.

Lindsey also helps with the Boys and Girls Club of Bowling Green, so whether it’s helping the kids she knows from there or brand new ones in the community, she’s grateful for an experience like this.
