WKU Greek Life sponsors presents for 34 Christmas Angel kids
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Members of Western Kentucky University Greek Life are working hard to give kids a special Christmas.
Tuesday evening, many of the school’s fraternities and sororities wrapped gifts for 34 elementary school kids at Parker-Bennett-Curry Elementary.
The Greek chapters are sponsoring these kids in the Christmas Angel program. That means before wrapping, they bought all these toys and clothes for the kids in the community.
This is WKU Greek life’s first year participating in the Christmas Angel wrapping, and the students unanimously said they hope it will become tradition.
Interfraternity Council President Ethan Elliott said, “It feels really good to help out kids that are less fortunate. It’s also good to just do some good for the community, and this is probably one of the better ways to do it for the community is for the kids.”
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated Nailah Weller said, “To be able to come together with all the other Greek organizations, as well as my sisters and just spend time together fellowshipping and doing something for the community as well – it’s just a good experience and I’m just happy to be here.”
This Wednesday, the chapters will take the gifts for the kids over to the elementary school.
