WKU Freshman awarded inaugural Toppers Assist Scholarship

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Western Kentucky University freshman from Bowling Green is named the inaugural recipient of the Toppers Assist Scholarship.

Frank Jones III, a 2020 graduate of Bowling Green High School, received a $2,000 scholarship for the 2020-2021 academic year.

He is pursuing a degree in Sports Management.

The Toppers Assist Scholarship was established in July 2020 by four former Hilltopper Basketball players who wanted to provide opportunities for underrepresented groups at WKU.

Since the announcement, eight other student-athletes have joined to support the scholarship.

Anthony Winchester, one of the four former athletes who established the scholarship; Donald Smith, President of the College Heights Foundation and former athletes AJ Slaughter and Matt Maresca presented Jones with the scholarship.
