WKU football gets back to work after Alabama loss

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU football is getting right back to work over on Fiex Field after falling over the weekend to the Alabama Crimson Tide.

The game saw the Tops defense allow some chunk plays for scores, as well as the Tops offense held to zero points, thus leaving much room for improvement leading into this week’s matchup with in-state opponent Eastern Kentucky.

Tops head coach Tyson Helton and one of the defensive linemen spoke earlier in the week on what they took away from Saturday’s loss at Alabama.

“There was a lot of really good things as a team that we saw,” Helton said. “I thought we competed extremely hard. I thought, in some critical downs, we showed up both offensively and defensively. We just have got to make sure we find our groove and correct the mistakes that we had from last week.”

“I mean, we just kind of try to do the same thing every week and treat every opponent the same,” defensive lineman Dallas Walker said. “Team wise, we just all try to come together. There were a lot of little silly mistakes we had and stuff last week. So, we’re trying to clean that up and just come together as a team and play together and play for each other.”
