WKU eyes September in-person graduation ceremony

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Western Kentucky University President Timothy Caboni announced Monday that school officials are looking at a date in September for an in-person graduation ceremony.

In a video message, Caboni said that the university is eyeing the weekend of September 19th, which is Parents and Family Weekend. Caboni said half of the graduating class recently filled out a survey indicating they’d like to return to Bowling Green that weekend for commencement.

An in-person graduation will not take place next month due to the coronavirus pandemic. Caboni said degree conferral will take place virtually instead.
