WKU employees have salaries restored and reimbursed
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU employees are receiving some good news right before the holidays.
Back in May, the Western Kentucky University Board of Regents and President Timothy Caboni voted to reduce salaries for campus workers due to the uncertainty that the virus would bring.
The tiered reduction plan allowed for a one to 10 percent decrease in pay, depending on the worker’s annual salary.
Now, Caboni has let faculty and staff know that not only will the school will be restoring salaries back to normal, but employees will also be receiving a reimbursement for the amount withheld since July 1.
Ryan Dearbone, the assistant director of college advancement at WKU, said the extra money will help salaried employees out during such a tough year.
Paychecks will be fully restored this week on Dec. 18.
