WKU bicycle program coming to an end

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Those red and black Western Kentucky University bicycles you see around Bowling Green will soon become a thing of the past.

According to a news release from the university, VeoRide will be ceasing bike and ebike-share services at the end of the month.

VeoRide gave notice that it would be refocusing its efforts in markets that are focused on multi-modal fleets centered on e-scooters and e-bikes.

The program at WKU started in the fall of 2018.

According to the news release, university officials are interested in speaking with representatives from the city of Bowling Green to see if there could be an opportunity for a partnership on a similar endeavor involving micro-mobility.
