WKU announces Brent Chumbley Memorial Hilltopper Relays

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Following the sudden and tragic passing of Director of Cross Country/Track and Field Brent Chumbley on January 30, WKU Athletics has announced the renaming of the annual Hilltopper Relays to the Brent Chumbley Memorial Hilltopper Relays.

“Renaming the Hilltopper Relays to the Brent Chumbley Memorial Hilltopper Relays will be a special way to both remember and honor Coach Chumbley and the impact he had on the Track & Field program,” Athletic Director Todd Stewart said. “It has been inspiring to watch his student-athletes and staff rally around the respect he instilled in the program and continue to give their best effort every day. This meet will be a continuation of that effort and we look forward to a special weekend honoring Coach Chumbley and his impact.”

This year’s event will take place on Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29 at the Charles M. Ruter Track and Field Complex.
