WKU and Chattanooga Tie in Preseason Exhibition
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Soccer and Chattanooga played to a 0-0 draw on Monday afternoon at the WKU Soccer Complex in a preseason exhibition match.
WKU outshot Chattanooga 12-8 in the game, but the Mocs put three shots on goal while the Hilltoppers had just two.
HOW IT HAPPENED
WKU freshman Emrie Springs got off WKU’s first two shots of the game in the first ten minutes of action. Overall WKU outshot Chattanooga 7-2 in the first half and controlled possession. The second half was even in possession and the Mocs led in shots, 6-5.
Chattanooga’s best chance came late in the game, but freshman goalkeeper Sydney Strassemeier made the diving save to keep the match scoreless.
NOTABLES
- Springs led WKU in shots with three on the day.
- Brooke Sleeva, Amanda Simpson and Alyvia Walls each had two shots.
- Maddie Davis started the day in goal for the Hilltoppers, notching one save. Strassemeier came in for the second half and had three saves.

The Hilltoppers will be back in action on Friday, Aug. 9 at the University of the Cumberlands in the final preseason tune-up of the season.
