WKU active shooter training

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Today began active shooter training at WKU for the week. Local agencies came together this morning to coordinate search and rescue procedures along with strategic communication in order to prepare for a situation in which an active shooter enters a dorm.

Bowling Green Police Department, Warren County Sherriff’s Department, Med Center EMS, WKU Police Department and Warren County Emergency Management will be on Western’s campus from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for the remainder of the week to practice how best to approach one of the most dangerous situations both civilians and emergency responders can be in.
