Wisconsin man confesses to murder in Washington County, Kentucky

SHELBYVILLE, Ky.- A Wisconsin man confessed to murder in Washington County, Kentucky this weekend. Investigators say 23-year-old Roosevelt Davis broke into a home in Springfield on Friday morning. He then shot 31-year-old Kedesha Burch and 52-year-old Frances Campbell. Burch was killed and Campbell is still recovering in the hospital. Shelbyville Police say they pulled Davis over after finding him speeding in Simpsonsville a few hours later. They then discovered he was wanted in Wisconsin before taking Davis into custody. During an interview, officers say Davis admitted that he burglarized a bank and then used the money to buy two guns so he could kill the two women.

The Chief of Shelbyville police Bruce Gentry explains, “First it was a traffic stop, then it came back with a warrant out of Wisconsin. And then while we were out, the dispatch was alerted that because what happens when you run a subject. Dispatch got a phone call that you know he was wanted or a suspect in a homicide in Springfield.”

This case is expected to have more details released this week. News 40 will update you on air and on the web when we learn more.
