Wildcat Baseball trio drafted by Tampa Bay Rays

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Kentucky Wildcats had a total of seven players picked up by major league squads, including three by the Tampa Bay Rays.

Second Baseman Emilien Pitre, Pitcher Trey Pooser, and Pitcher Dominic Niman were drafted by the Rays after their strong efforts in aiding the bat cats to the College World Series.

Pitre, specifically, had a stellar year, putting up 10 homers and 20 doubles in 62 games, earning him the 58th pick in this year’s draft.

The Wildcat trio now will work their way up the Rays minor league system, which will more than likely include a stop here in Bowling Green with the Hot Rods.
