BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – With Juneteenth on Wednesday, June 19 being a federal holiday, many banks and all U.S. Postal Service locations are closed in observance.

However, additional closures reach beyond just these locations.

The Warren County Public Library has announced all of its locations are closed on Juneteenth, and its Buchanon Park branch will also be closed separately from the holiday on Saturday.

The Capitol Theatre in Bowling Green will be open at 6 p.m. for a free event in celebration of the holiday, co-hosted by the Bowling Green Freedom Walkers.

The Kentucky Museum is also closed in honor of Juneteenth, according to its social media. Western Kentucky University offices are also closed.

While the U.S. Postal Service closures will also mean there will be no regular mail delivery today except for premium Priority Mail Express, customers can still purchase mail supplies online, according to USPS’s website.
