What is the value in voting? Local voter shares potential impact

WARREN COUNTY, Ky.- Election day has wrapped up for Kentucky’s May primary.

Voting all over south-central Kentucky can impact every resident. It can affect certain laws, and it’s the way voters can vocalize where they stand. We met up with a local voter who shares the value of voting.

Brian Coffey, a local voter, says, “Well, your voice matters, and the only way that you can have your voice be heard is if you cast a vote, and you’re voting to see what kind of changes you’re wanting and what kind of changes you’re not wanting, and it’s a good thing to do for your community. If you don’t vote, you can’t complain.”

News 40 will break down what voter turnout looked like this year as it has been reportedly lower in local races in the past.
