Western Kentucky Women’s Soccer makes history with 73rd minute sub
As Western Kentucky Women’s Soccer went into action last night, history was made, as Sydney Engle subbed into the game in the 73rd minute, becoming the first lady topper, and second student-athlete in conference USA history, to compete in at least one match in women’s soccer and volleyball in their careers.
Engle is a four-year former volleyball player, and now has 17 minutes of soccer experience under her belt. Engle took to the field as goalie, combining with Bailee Witt, to record WKU’s first shutout of the season.
