Western Kentucky University food pantry offers help during times of need
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-Western Kentucky University is offering a resource to the public during this time of need.
That resource is the WKU food pantry, located in the school’s office of sustainability on Regents Avenue.
While the office is closed, appointments can be made to pick up various items like canned goods, easy to prepare meals, beverages and even hygiene products like toothpaste and shampoo.
Director of sustainability Dr. Leslie North said food insecurity is a real issue, now more than ever.
“There’s definitely a need in the community, and to be able to remain open and meet by appointment and to be as convenient as possible for individuals to come and meet their food security needs and just to support each other as a community, it’s what we try to do as much as possible here on the hill,” North said.
The pantry is also accepting both monetary donations and food.
