Backpack fundraiser being hosted at Logansport this weekend

BUTLER COUNTY, Ky. – A draft tournament will be held at the Logansport Ballpark in Morgantown, Kentucky to raise money for children who experience hunger on the weekends.

On June 22, the event begins at 5 p.m. for participants over 16 years old. There is a two home-run limit and at least four teams wanted for the event.

The event requires a $10 entry fee, all proceeds go the the Backpack Program for Butler County Schools. Many kids in the district have little to no food on the weekends which may affect behaviors or attendance.

The back pack program benefits students from Head Start to high schoolers. Food will be brought to students’ homes every Friday to assist families.

Locals also have an option to make a one time donation of $155 to help one student each weekend for a year.
