Week long manhunt for suspect considered ‘armed and dangerous’ ends
MADISONVILLE, Ky. – A wanted man considered armed and dangerous has been captured.
The Madisonville Police Department received a tip regarding the whereabouts of Jonathan Ruby, 45, of White Plains. Ruby was considered armed and dangerous following a physical altercation at the scene of a crash in Mortons Gap. Ruby fled the scene of the incident on foot and evaded capture since March 26.
Ruby was wanted on felony warrants including fleeing or evading police, trafficking in a controlled substance, and parole violations.
On Monday, MPD says it located Ruby in a vehicle parked on South Main Street.
Police say they asked Ruby for identification and he provided the name “Stephan Ruby.”
During a search, officers located suspected marijuana, methamphetamine, synthetic marijuana, clear empty baggies, and money. Officers say they located a digital scale in the backseat.
Ruby was arrested and transported to the Hopkins County Detention Center.
Ruby is charged with fleeing or evading police, trafficking in a controlled substance, and parole violations from the physical incident at the crash site.
Ruby is facing additional charges of marijuana trafficking, trafficking methamphetamine, possession of synthetic drugs, and theft of the identity of another without consent.
Ruby has two cash bonds for $20,000 and $50,000.
