BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – There is a new principal of Warren Elementary.

In an announcement on Tuesday, Superintendent Rob Clayton and Warren County Schools named Josh Porter as the next principal of Warren Elementary.

Since 2019, Porter has served as an assistant principal at Bowling Green High School. Porter was responsible for 11th and 12th-grade students and school safety and facilities.

Porter will be a familiar face to Warren Elementary. He previously served the school for 12 years, with 9 in the lead principal role.

“Mr. Porter’s leadership experience as a building level leader, combined with his love for the Warren Elementary school community, gives me great confidence in Mr. Porter’s ability to successfully transition our students and staff into a brand new facility in the fall of 2025. Mr. Porter’s experience at the high school level over the past five years will serve him well in his return to Warren Elementary, and we look forward to seeing the continued growth of our students under his exemplary leadership,”  said Rob Clayton, Superintendent of Warren County Public Schools.

“I’m excited for the chance to lead Warren Elementary School again. My 12 years at the school have been some of my most cherished times during my career. I thoroughly enjoyed my previous service to the students, staff, and community and can’t wait to get back to work with them. Exciting times are ahead with the new building and I’m
grateful for the opportunity. I would like to thank Mr. Clayton and the school’s advisory leadership team for placing their confidence in me. I am prepared to get to work and focus on moving the needle forward for our students,” said Porter following the announcement.

Porter will assume the role of principal on July 1, 2024.
