WCPS hosts community leaders for tour of Impact Center
WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – Warren County Public Schools gave community leaders a look at the future of education here.
The Impact Center, which is under construction on Cumberland Trace Road, will open in August of 2026.
The unique school will give seventh through 10th graders access to cutting-edge career pathways in fields like artificial intelligence, nursing, aerospace engineering and robotics, along with their instructions in core subjects, such as English, math and reading.
Allison Mefford, director of WCPS Education Foundation, says, “A lot of the community sees what’s going on as you drive up and down the road. But to come inside the doors and to see what’s inside these doors and what our students are going to get to experience in a year is tremendous. We just wanted to open this space up for the community to have a snapshot of what we’re going to be able to offer.”
Students will be selected through merit and also a lottery.
The application is available on Warren County Public Schools’ website and is open to any 2026 incoming seventh through 10th graders.
Part-time instruction will also be available for 11th and 12th graders.
