Watts man charged with murder of woman

WATTS, Ky. – State police are investigating a murder in Breathitt County.

Kentucky State Police says an ambulance was requested at Walter Lane in the Watts community on Tuesday. Reports say the man was experiencing a mental health episode.

A second call was received saying the man had barricaded himself in a home, and the caller requested law enforcement.

When troopers arrived, they located Lance Hyde, 42, of Watts, inside the home.

The body of Jessica Campbell-Hyde, 44, of Watts, was discovered inside the home with fatal puncture wounds to the torso.

Hyde was arrested by troopers and taken to the Kentucky River Regional Jail.

Hyde is charged with one count of murder (domestic violence).

The investigation is ongoing.
