WATCH: Ride-along with Warren County sheriff Brett Hightower surveys flooding
WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – News 40 went out to some highly affected areas to assess water levels on Friday to let you know what you’re dealing with.
From closed roads, flooded backyards and businesses, many locations were under water. We rode along with Warren County sheriff Brett Hightower as he assessed some of the areas.
He says the high water levels can really be dangerous if you attempt to drive through them.
“Our ability to tread some of the water when we get on these roadways, ” Hightower says. “So it doesn’t take a lot of water for you to lose that traction because it just increases the potential for accidents.”
If at all possible, you are encouraged to stay off the road no matter what size your vehicle is.
