Warren Water making water and sewer rate adjustments, bills to increase
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Warren County Water District will be implementing water bill increases for water and wastewater customers beginning July 1.
These adjustments are the result of a wholesale rate increase by Bowling Green Municipal Utilities as Warren Water purchases their water from them.
The new rates to customers are a result of that rate change.
There are also two projects in the works as part of these adjustments.
The first is an expansion of the Bowling Green Municipal Utilities Water Treatment Plant.
The second is Warren County Water District’s need to rehabilitate and repair aging wastewater pipes underground.
The water bill increases will support the expansion of the Water Treatment Plant, which is underway now.
The expansion will allow the plant to treat 30 to 45 million gallons more water than they currently do per day.
The repairing and rehabilitating of aging wastewater pipes will take place in the Louisville Road and Plum Springs area.
These are concrete water pipes installed underground in the early 70s.
Water bill increases will vary depending on how much water a customer uses.
Those using the least amount of water will see bills go from $11.86 to $12.60 per month.
For average residential users, it will be $21.64 to $23.34 per month.
For average commercial customers will go from $169.21 to 187.71 per month.
The water bill increases go into effect on July 1st of this year.
This will be the first of four increases over the next four years.
The increases in 2020 through 2022 will be lower.
