Warren East Lady Raider signs with Campbellsville softball
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – On Thursday, Warren East Lady Raider Lydia Jones signed her national letter of intent to play softball for the Campbellsville University Lady Tigers beginning in the fall.
Over the course of her career at Warren East, Jones excelled on the diamond with 128 runs, 118 RBI’s and a batting averaging of .443 from 8th grade to junior year.
In addition to softball, Jones also dabbled in other sports as a Lady Raider, spending a season with the golf team and two seasons with the Lady Raider basketball squad where she averaged 11.2 points per game in her senior year.
At her signing, Jones shared her excitement to be continuing her softball career at the collegiate level.
“I was ready to get the deal signed just before softball season starts so I can go into my senior year with no pressure and just be able to have fun for my final year of high school,” Jones said. “It’s very special, ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of playing college ball and playing at the next level, so it’s just really a dream come true.”
