Warren County Water District celebrates opening of new headquarters
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WNKY) – The Warren County Water District officially celebrated the opening of its new headquarters with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday, marking the completion of a facility district leaders say is designed to support continued growth and improve service for customers across the region.
The new building replaces the district’s previous headquarters, which opened in 1989 when the utility employed 34 people. Today, the district has about 90 employees serving customers in Warren, Simpson and Butler counties.
“This is an important day for our board, our employees, the people we serve,” General Manager Jacob Cuarta said. “This facility has been years in the making. It’s a culmination of planning, teamwork and a shared belief that we must prepare today for the needs of tomorrow.”
Cuarta said the district had outgrown its former building as Warren County has continued to expand.
“Today we have around 90,” he said. “That growth reflects the evolution of Warren County, the number of people we serve and the added demands placed on our water and wastewater systems. Our facility served us well, but we had simply outgrown it.”
Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce 2026 Chairman Roddy Grimes said dependable utility infrastructure is essential as south-central Kentucky continues to attract residents and businesses.
“Our region continues to grow,” Grimes said. “Having strong infrastructure, dependable utility partners such as Warren County Water District is critically important. This new facility represents not only an investment in operations, but also an investment in the future of the communities they serve.”
Cuarta said the district intentionally planned ahead rather than waiting until its facilities could no longer meet operational demands.
“Instead of waiting until our space and operations can no longer keep up, our board and staff chose to act early,” he said. “We built a facility that meets our needs today while also preparing for the future.”
