Warren County waste tire collection

WARREN COUNTY, Ky.- Warren County Division of Environmental Planning and the Kentucky Division of Waste Management are hosting a waste tire collection.

This event is free and open to any Kentucky resident to keep tires out of landfills, people’s personal property and the side of the road. Along with making this better for the environment, the tires that are collected will be recycled and used for mulch and other ways that are helpful for the environment.

According to deputy judge-executive Bryan Downing, properly disposing will not only help the environment, it will also help our community.

He says, “We want when folks come off the interstate or they’re coming to visit to look at houses, to have a great impression of what Warren County is, it’s the most beautiful place to live. It’s a great community. But we want as you drive down the road, we don’t want to see tires and trash.”

There are certain types of tires that are not accepted. This includes large OTR, tracks, sheet rubber, solid or any tire with a bead greater than 13⁄4 inches.

The first tire waste collection will be on February 29, 2024 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., March 1, 2024 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and March 2, 2024 from 8 a.m. to noon.
