Warren County SROs are preparing for new school year
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Education officials have made it a priority to have School Resource Officers available in all schools.
This week, those offices are preparing for the best ways to keep our children safe this school year.
This includes going through active shooter training, going over safety regulations and going over any new laws that may affect the kids’ safety.
However, the major concern this year is cracking down on vaping.
“We do educational things through our counselors and mental health specialists. Also, we try to educate parents on what to do. The other thing is we have policies in place when kids are caught with vapes and if it’s something where we feel like this needs a charge, we’ll do that as well,” Steve Chappell, school safety director at Warren County Public Schools, says.
