Warren County Sheriff’s Office confirms DNA obtained for Ella Way shooting

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – Authorities have obtained DNA related to a shooting on Ella Way in Bowling Green, Kentucky that happened on April 22, according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
WNKY News 40 has confirmed with Warren County Sheriff Brett Hightower that a search warrant for DNA related to the shooting was obtained.
The identity associated with the DNA is still under investigation.
Last month, Warren County deputies responded to Ella Way for a reported shooting as they were on their way to a wreck on Murphy Road. So far, Jessie Ray Curtis, 36, was captured in Tennessee and taken into custody in relation to this incident.
Deputies say Curtis sustained a gunshot wound to his back during an exchange of gunfire. A second person, Joshua Culbreath, 38, of Franklin, Kentucky, was also arrested for outstanding warrants and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The resident of Ella Way, Jess Fitzgerald, 33, was arrested on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and trafficking in marijauana.
