Warren County Sheriff warns of phony veterans scam

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is alerting residents of a new phone scam, where the scammer is claiming to raise money for a a local veterans’ organization.

According to the sheriff’s office, someone is calling businesses in the Bowling Green area, seeking donations for the AMVETS Post in Bowling Green.

The sheriff’s office says the AMVETS Post in Bowling Green is not doing solicitations and no one should give any money or information from someone claiming to be a part of the organization at this time.

If you’ve received a phone call from someone claiming to be from the organization, you are asked to contact the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
