Warren County School District quarantine numbers declining

BOWLING GREEN KY.- Warren County School District superintendent Rob Clayton said the number of students in COVID-19 quarantine has decreased significantly.

Following the district’s mask mandate 10 school days ago, the number of quarantined students has decreased to 834 students across the district. It’s a 50 percent drop in the 10 days of mask wearing in the schools.

There are 17,384 students in the Warren County Schools. No staff are quarantined as a result of school contact.

One hundred staff members are currently required to quarantine from community or household contact.

Clayton emphasized that the districts staff have done well despite being spread thin.

“I would mention that in conversations with our local health officials, we’re optimistic that we’re experiencing hopefully the peak of the virus. Obviously, nobody knows for certain, but we’re optimistic that that is the case,” Clayton said.

Clayton says the number of vaccinated staff increases each week, and as of now, over 60% of them are fully vaccinated.
