Warren County School Board approves tax hike to fund school safety measures

The Warren County Board of Education approved a property tax increase Thursday night to provide additional safety measures at the district’s schools.

According to a tweet sent out by the district, funding will be used for 5 additional school resource officers, 4 additional mental health specialists, and additional safety technologies. The tweet went on to say that more information would be shared with families on Friday.

Last month, WNKY reported that district officials were discussing the idea of proposing a $0.02 property tax increase. The $0.02 property tax increase would add up to $1.5 million dollars in reoccurring revenue for the school district.
