BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Warren County Public Library, in partnership with the Kentucky Center for Leadership, invites local professionals and community leaders to Leaders Are Readers, a dynamic keynote and networking event featuring legendary women’s basketball coach Sherri Coale.

The event will take place Thursday, July 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Capitol.

Sherri Coale is best known for her extraordinary career as head coach of the University of Oklahoma women’s basketball team, where she built a powerhouse program and led the Sooners to multiple Final Four appearances.

A 2016 inductee into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, Coale is widely respected for her leadership, mentorship, and commitment to education both on and off the court. She is a master motivator, an engaging speaker, and a keen observer of everyday life.

Attendees will receive a copy of Coale’s book, The Compost File: Stories for the Striver in Us All, an inspiring collection of essays that reflect on growth, purpose, and resilience. Coale’s bite-sized nuggets, told with intimate detail, provide a thought-provoking exploration into the human condition. They speak to the challenges and wonders of parenthood, the agony and euphoria of competition, the rewards and sacrifices of leadership, and many other seeming dichotomies that are really siblings at heart. Blending humor, honesty, and hard-earned wisdom, The Compost File invites readers to embrace the messiness of life as fertile ground for becoming their best selves.

This midday event offers a unique opportunity for professionals across industries to connect, reflect, and grow. A $30 ticket includes admission, a boxed lunch, and a copy of The Compost File. Tickets are available now at capitolbg.org.
