Warren County Public Library provides free shuttle service
WARREN COUNTY, Ky.- The Warren County Public Library partnered with the American Red Cross to bring a new free shuttle to Bowling Green.
This is not just available to help one particular group – this will help anyone who desires a ride.
Chris Barrett, the shuttle driver, tells us how this will make a great difference, saying, “This is a great way to remove barriers for people who, either can’t find a way to use the library’s resources or get to it.”
The hours of operation are three days out of the week, but if there is a natural disaster or a need in the community, the shuttle is prepared to be there.
Emily Witthuhn shares the different ways the shuttle will be utilized.
Witthuhn says, “We’re also excited to see how we can use this when, weather disaster or some other kind of community disruption occurs. That was part of the reason that the Red cross sponsored this project for us. so that when there is some big, important need in the community.”
This free shuttle is a form of public transportation that’s proving to be more than a necessity, and with it, the community is moving straight toward success.
Barrett also says, “As an individual, if I can help people who would otherwise be alone, isolated, perhaps even in danger, be with them. That’s a fine thing. ”
