Warren County Public Library invites community to help name lion statues

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Lisa Rice Library now sits “between the lions” – two lion statues that is.
However, the Warren County Public Library has yet to name them and is asking for the community’s help.
The library recently installed the pair of lion statues at its College Street entrance to enhance the library’s exterior and to give a welcoming focal point.
Patrons are invited to vote for their favorite duo names through an online form available here.
The naming poll features a curated list of name pairs selected by library staff, inspired by literature, learning and Kentucky’s cultural heritage:
- Libri & Lux (books & light)
- Courage & Kindness
- Blue & Berry (Thomas Fountain Blue, the first Black librarian in Kentucky; Wendell Berry, Kentucky poet and author)
- Courage & Curiosity
- Wendell & Warren (for Kentucky authors Wendell Berry and Robert Penn Warren)
- Creativity & Wisdom
- Literacy & Curiosity
The Warren County Public Library invites everyone to stop by and see the new lions in person and and to cast their votes online.
For more information and to cast your vote, click here or follow Warren County Public Library on Facebook and Instagram. The winning names will be announced on social media at the end of this week.
