Warren County Public Library hosts summer reading kickoff

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Hundreds of kids are now hooked on reading and News 40 was there for all the fun.

The library hosted their Pirate Party at the National Corvette Museum today.

The party celebrates the library’s summer reading kickoff to promote community engagement and encourage reading.

Kids of all ages were able to enjoy activities from multiple community organizations and even meet some pretty awesome goats and sharks.

Over 1,000 people showed up to the kickoff that is just one of many events hosted by the public library this summer.

“It’s so wonderful to see everyone back out again… celebrating each other,” said Laura Beth Fox-Ezell. “Getting to have an in-person kickoff is so meaningful and something we’ll never take for granted again, so were just grateful to be here.”
