Warren County Public Library broadens language opportunities for children

BOWLING GREEN Ky. – At the main branch of the Warren County Public Library preschool-age children learned a little Spanish Friday.

Children ages three to five had stories read to them as they interacted with the Spanish language. Program facilitators also used art to introduce Spanish to young minds.

When a child starts to get involved with learning a language at a younger age, they’ll be more likely to retain and refine the skill as they get older, which will broaden the opportunities for them.

Library assistant at the Warren County Public Library Cecia Reyes says this event was a great opportunity to get the kids involved in the Spanish language and culture at a young age.

“It gives them an experience at a very young age to explore being exposed to a different language and culture,” Reyes said.

Another preschool Spanish session will be held at the same library on June 7 and Friday June 21.
