Warren County man accused of choking woman
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- A Warren County man is behind bars after investigators said he choked a woman in front of one of her own children.
Deputies with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded early Thursday morning to a residence in the 300 block of R H Martin Road due to a complaint of a domestic related incident.
According to an arrest citation, the female victim told authorities that she passed out when Bobby Vanmeter, 40, was choking her on the couch. The victim also told authorities that Vanmeter also struck her in the face. Authorities noted in the arrest citation that the woman had various wounds to her face and neck. A juvenile was also interviewed by authorities who told them he witnessed the incident.
Vanmeter told authorities he did not choke the woman, according to the citation.
Vanmeter is charged with first-degree strangulation, first-degree unlawful imprisonment and fourth-degree assault-domestic violence.
He is lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail and being held without bond.
